Camphill Movement

Camphill Movement

Camphill movement was founded in 1939 as a form of silent spiritual resistance to the cruelties committed by the Nazis at the brink during the Second World War. In a way, one can say that even today, a Camphill community strives to do the same: trying to build a silent resistance to the mainstream’s refusal and rejection of wrongly quoted non-productive, differently abled, differently constituted human beings.

Within a life-sharing community, all members practice the art of caring throughout the day. Caring for the nature and surroundings like gardens, animals — and above all caring for each other. Social relationships here are seen as a matter of destiny.

Therefore we open the possibility to generate impulses for individual growth: both for residents and co-workers!
